Stillife with sculpture and decanter (SOLD)

In this painting, I wanted to explore the contrast between the timeless and the transient. The bust represents something eternal – an ideal that remains steadfast through the passage of time – while the flower and leaves in the foreground remind us of the fragility and impermanence of life.

Light and shadow play a central role in the composition. I used dramatic lighting to emphasize the features of the bust, creating a sense of presence, while the shadows invite contemplation and mystery. The draped fabric in the background frames the objects, adding movement and texture to contrast with the solid lines of the bust and the pitcher.

The color palette was carefully chosen to balance warm and cool tones – deep blues for calmness and introspection, and earthy warmth to bring life and depth. My goal was to create a still life that goes beyond the objects themselves, evoking a mood and sparking thought in the viewer. Tellus Vituz
