view from Byneset

Original acrylic painting on mdf. 50×40 cm

Categories: , , ,

This painting is inspired by the landscapes of Byneset, where I aimed to capture the unique moment when the sun is setting behind the hills. The light shifts from golden to deep, warm tones, creating a beautiful contrast between the glowing sky and the darkened foreground. The branches framing the scene give a sense of intimacy, as if you are hidden among the trees, observing this quiet yet powerful aspect of nature.

I chose acrylic paint to work quickly with the changing light and shadow during the sunset. The textures and contrasts between light and dark illustrate how the sun’s last rays play across the landscape before they disappear completely. This painting is about capturing a moment of stillness and reflection in nature.

The foreground is intentionally kept a bit diffuse to draw the viewer’s eye towards the horizon, where the last light bathes the landscape in a warm glow. This place holds special meaning for me, and through this artwork, I aim to convey the tranquility and connection I find in such moments.
